Communication Skills, Decision Making Skills, Becoming Givers

 

The Core Leadership Program provides our Connecticut Gator middle school and high school baseball players the opportunity to learn and develop important leadership skills throughout the year.  Through monthly discussion sessions, an annual community service project, guest speakers, and volunteer coaching opportunities, our Gator student-athletes will develop three important qualities which all great leader possesses: effective communication skills, good decision-making abilities, and a practiced sense of selflessness

 

Leadership Seminars

·       6 bi-monthly meetings -  90 minutes

·       Discussion Topics - athletics, current events, school,

·       Three guest speakers

·       Public Speaking Exercises

·       Definitions & examples of effective leaders


Previous Projects

HEALTH CARE HEROES
raised $1000 for meals and presented more than 1500 baked goods for an entire hospital floor at the height of the COVID pandemic in 2022

HOLIDAY TOY DRIVES
Over the past 6 years, our leaders have collected more than 2,000 new toys for at-risk children in ours and surrounding communities

COLESTRONG
In 2018 raised more than $10,000 for a CORE Training Academy member diagnosed with osteosarcoma.

ORANGE TUTORING PROGRAM
In 2017 raised $2,000 to provide special needs children with an after school tutoring program

LITERACY NIGHT
provided 42 players ages 5-10 a $30 gift card to Barnes and Noble, executed read-alongs, parent breakouts sessions, a throwing clinic and the pizza truck!
