Matt Memoli – Summer Camp Coordinator
Matt is currently a sixth year physical education teacher at Newtown Middle School in Newtown, CT. Matt is entering his second year as the head baseball coach at Newtown High School. At age 25 he led the Newtown Nighthawks to a 17–7 record and the quarterfinals of the state tournament. In 2009 Matt was a volunteer assistant baseball coach at Yale University where he worked with the hitters, outfielders, and infielders.
Matt completed his undergraduate studies at Central Connecticut State University where he majored in Physical Education, minored in Psychology, and earned a cross endorsement in Health Education. While at Central, Matt was a two-year captain on the baseball team, an all-conference player and part of two conference championships. During Matt’s tenure at CCSU, the team earned two automatic bids to the NCAA tournament and competed against some of the top Division I baseball programs in the nation, including Arizona State and the University of Florida. During his sophomore year, Matt ranked fifth in the Northeast Conference in hitting with a .359 batting average. Matt ranks sixth on the all-time hit list at Central Connecticut State with 173 and seventh in runs batted in with 103 for his career.
Matt earned his master’s degree from Southern Connecticut State University in School Health and is currently earning his Sixth year certificate in Educational Leadership.
